The Long Haul
Guide your wagon party from Independence to the West. Survive the journey by managing resources and making smart decisions. The game ends when you reach the West or if your entire party dies. Players vote on decisions using chat commands. This is a Twitch-integrated game that is based on the original game, The Oregon Trail. No game is ever the same!!
How to Play
This is a Twitch-integrated game. Players vote on decisions using chat commands:
!1, !2, !3: Vote for an option during a decision event.
!pace <speed>: Set travel pace (steady, strenuous, grueling). Faster = more distance but more health loss/risk.
!rations <amount>: Set food rations (filling, meager, bare-bones). Less food = health loss.
!heal <name>: Heal a party member for 20 health (Costs 10 Food).
!join: Join the wagon party at the start of the game.
Resources
Food: Eaten daily. If Food reaches 0, the party starves and dies immediately. Hunting and trading can replenish it.
Clothing: Protects against cold weather (rain/snow). Without warm clothes, members lose health rapidly in bad weather.
Supplies (Spare Parts): Used to repair the wagon. If the wagon breaks down completely, you must trade or repair it.
Bullets: Required for hunting animals for food.
Money: Used for trading and paying tolls/services.
Survival Tips
Keep an eye on Health. Rest or heal if it gets low.
Stock up on Food whenever possible. Starvation is instant death.
Buy Clothing early if you can, winter is harsh.
Watch out for random events like bandits, snake bites, and dysentery!
Be prepared: some may have to make the ultimate life sacrifice so others can survive.
